Welcome to Badin!
Hey Tadpoles:
Dear Bullfrogs,
Welcome to your new home under the dome, Badin Hall!! We cannot wait to welcome you to the BEST hall on campus, and officially declare you a Bullfrog! We are so excited for you!
As one of the smallest women’s dorms, Badin has an incredible, tight-knit community, a rich history and a beautiful building. We come from all over the world, with more majors and hobbies than we can name! We can’t wait for you to join our family and start forming lifelong memories. From the very start of Welcome Weekend, you will be invited to form connections with your peers through classes, clubs, intramural sports, and, of course, football games! The Notre Dame community is formed by so many different parts of campus, and we cannot wait to show you.
We are so grateful to be able to help plan your Badin Welcome Weekend experience, to help you get to know campus, your fellow bullfrogs and your new classmates! Get ready for a busy, fun-filled and uniquely Notre Dame weekend!
We know college is a big adjustment for everyone. Know that your Badin community is here for you as you transition, as well as through your time here and beyond. Don’t forget to look out for University notifications throughout the summer, as well as more information from us as we get closer to the start of the year. We can’t wait to meet you!
If you have any questions, concerns, thoughts, or just want to reach out, we’re only an email away!

Fun Fact: I'm SCUBA-certified!
Hey Bullfrogs! I'm so excited to serve as one of your Welcome Weekend Co-Chairs this fall! My home away from the dome is Gig Harbor, Washington, but under the dome I'm on the fourth floor of Badin! I'm a junior studying Global Affairs, with a minor in International Security Studies. On campus I'm involved with Mercy Works, the Notre Dame Martial Arts Institute, and I serve as a Moreau Peer Leader. When I'm not studying, you can find me perpetually playing some form of volleyball, hanging out with my friends, listening to music or obsessively organizing my Gcal! The Badin community is truly so special - I can't wait for you to be a part of it! Welcome to the best hall on campus!

Hometown: Sayreville, New Jersey
Section: 3 Lake
Major: Chemical Engineering
Fun Fact: I have hiked the Austrian Alps!
Hi Bullfrogs! I’m so excited to be one of your Welcome Weekend Co-Chairs! I’m a rising junior studying Chemical Engineering, originally from Central Jersey. This year, I’ll be living in 3 Lake with one of my best friends—who was actually my random roommate freshman year! On campus, I’m involved in Chem-E-Car and AIChE (the American Institute of Chemical Engineers), as well as SOLES (the Society of Latino Engineers and Scientists). When I’m not in class, you’ll probably find me having Starbucks with friends in LaFun or going for a run around the lakes. One of my favorite ND memories so far has been studying abroad in London. It gave me the chance to meet incredible people and explore so many parts of Europe! I can’t wait to meet y’all and welcome you home!

so what's a freshmen quad?
so what's a freshmen quad?
Badin has singles, doubles, triples and quads. Most freshmen will be placed in a double or a quad. Freshmen quads have a common room separated from the bedroom by a door. The bedroom is divided by a half wall with the sink. Below, you can find floor plans of a standard freshmen quad and the most common furniture layouts. Most residents choose to loft all four beds; however, bunking the beds is also a possibility. It is very difficult to leave the beds on the floor though given the tight room space.

Although freshmen rooms can be tight (especially quads!), there's plenty of room to be creative in your loft space. Check out these cute spaces to inspire your dorm room!

How to be ND:
Notre Dame is full of tradition & you'll soon learn to love the little things that make ND so special!
you can look forward to domer fest during welcome weekend, the first snow fall snowball fight on south quad, football eve midnight drummer's circle, candlelight dinners in the dining hall after home football games, touchdown pushups, and so much more!!

Start to join in on the Notre Dame traditions by learning the Victory March and Alma Mater now so you're prepared to have the best first game day:
Notre Dame Victory March
Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame,
Wake up the echoes cheering her name,
Send a volley cheer on high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky.
What though the odds be great or small
Old Notre Dame will win over all,
While her loyal sons and daughters March on to victory!
Notre Dame Alma Mater
Notre Dame, our mother,
tender, strong and true,
proudly in the heavens
gleams thy gold and blue.
Glory’s mantle cloaks thee,
golden is thy fame,
and our hearts forever
praise thee, Notre Dame;
and our hearts forever
love thee Notre Dame.
are you ready for touchdown push ups?

superstitious
MAIN BUILDING STEPS
you'll never see a student enter the famous golden dome building using the grand main staircase... superstition is that students who travel on these stairs won't graduate. it has become a tradition for seniors to take celebratory photos posing on these stairs after graduation like these cute Badin grads!

GOD QUAD GRASS
notre dame students take two semesters of theology but they have to watch out! students who step on the god quad grass will fail their theology classes.

LYONS HALL ARCH
lyons hall is tucked away at the end of south quad with a beautiful arched walkway that leads to saint mary's lake. superstitious tradition says that love is formed under lyons arch & a kiss under the arch will lead to marriage!

FIGURE 8 AROUND THE LAKES
romance is in the air around saint mary's and saint joseph's lakes! this superstition predicts that walking hand in hand with your significant other will result in marriage, but only if you follow a figure eight path around both lakes.
